The Federation of Canadian Municipalities a New Euclid Client
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Bethesda , MD – Euclid Technology ( www.euclidtechnology.com ), a premier provider of integrated software solutions for associations, announced today that the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) selected Euclid 's flagship, web-enabled software, ClearVantage® 6.0, for its new association management software (AMS) system.
With more than 1,600 municipalities as members (that, in turn, represent approximately 9/10th of Canada’s population), the Federation of Canadian Municipalities is the national voice of municipal government in Canada. As FCM grew, the association increasingly realized that it was being stymied by its current setup, with multiple systems that contributed to redundant storage, inconsistency of information and data overlap. This realization led to a project which investigated a number of potential off-the-shelf applications that could meet FCM’s needs, after conducting a requirements review to establish what those needs were.
In sum, FCM wanted a single repository for its data which could be accessed by all staff, while allowing updates to be controlled by designated staff only. The product interface had to be sufficiently easy to use and intuitive that staff actually would want to use it. FCM also wanted to allow external stakeholders to be able to update their own information via the Web, as well as support on-line registration for conferences – including payment.
After FCM conducted an extensive search, it found that Euclid’s flagship software program, ClearVantage, proved to be the right solution. Not only did they find that ClearVantage could easily adapt to its particular needs, but it also had an intuitive, user-friendly interface. “We really like the fact that Euclid’s ClearVantage will be able to provide us with all of the tools that we need for managing the logistics involved in our multiple events (trade shows, conferences and board meetings) as well as manage our dues, subscriptions, committees and other services for our members…and to do it in a way that will be easy for our employees to adjust to and learn the software,” explains Jean-François Trépanier, Chief Operating Officer at FCM. “We were further heartened by Euclid’s reputation within the industry for working closely with association staff to ensure a smooth implementation in a timely manner. The client-vendor relationship is very important to FCM, as the organization plans to have little in the way of in-house resources to support the technical aspects of operating the application. FCM conducted multiple reference checks, and we found the interviews with existing ClearVantage customers to be reassuring. These conversations established Euclid’s background and experience with other non-profit organizations. FCM looks forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship with Euclid, especially as the ClearVantage product is enhanced in the future to include even more features and capabilities.”
“We are delighted to have FCM join Euclid’s growing list of clients. FCM is also our first Canadian client so we are thrilled to have this opportunity to expand our reach and offer our software and services to the Canadian association industry,” states Euclid’s President and CEO, Charles Vinal.
