Implementation Successful at District of Columbia Bar

Comprised of thousands of attorney members, the District of Columbia Bar is the second largest unified bar association in the country. Its primary operations are focused on lawyer registration, discipline, professional development, and public service initiatives.
After realizing a decrease in staff efficiency due to a scattered structure of data flow, DC Bar desired a new method of enterprise resource management that would replace its old system of relying on multiple databases. The new association management software (AMS) solution that the organization desired not only had to provide complete integration of all information into one source but also had to be much more efficient in order to handle the bar’s growing membership base. Powerful electronic commerce capabilities were also a must. With a checklist of literally 229 items that the AMS solution had to meet, it became clear to DC Bar that Euclid’s ClearVantage was the best solution for them.
Throughout the implementation, DC Bar was impressed by the expertise and professionalism displayed by the Euclid team: “Euclid has the best team of specialists that I’ve ever worked with on a project of this scope. Since going live with the software, DC Bar has been able to realize their investment. For example, they are now able to bill 86,000 members’ annual dues with ease, instead of the days that it used to take to create and process the dues invoices. Members now also have the option to pay their dues online, as well as have access to several other member benefits and services online. DC Bar’s members can now more easily stay in touch with one another by using the software’s community building functions. In addition, the association’s staff is now able to perform controlled marketing for events and publications through the software’s ability to provide detailed demographic searches to target specific members.
“The ease of generating mass email campaigns and the ability for us to now zero in on customer preferences through one system cuts the time needed to pull up members,” states Kinas. “Before the switch, we were forced to coordinate with programmers to get our members’ invoices. Now, everything from customer invoices and accounts receivable to real-time updates of our members’ profiles is no more than a few clicks away.”
